Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year or in Welsh Nadolig Llawen a Blwydden Newydd Ddu!
That's a lot of fun - I wish I could say it but all I know is it won't sound a bit like the spelling phonetically suggests.
Thank you for sending me the news and pictures of Christmas where you are, you can have a look at everyone's contributions on the page marked "Christmas Where YOU Are" on the banner at the top of this blog - just click on it to open.
I had a look to see what the Welsh customs are for Christmas and they involve a very early morning Christmas service called a plygain (daybreak or cock-crow is the translation, I think) and taffi (toffee) - Intrigued? Click on the highlighted links to read about them. The toffee recipe sounds wicked and worth trying for those of you with a sweet tooth.
Wales is full of magic - castles - loads of dragons and an intriguing brand of egg called Mr Welshegg - see picture on Egg Box. I can't explain it - it is just one of those Welsh-isms that make living here such fun and something of an adventure every day.
After all I could understand a Mrs or Miss Welshegg but MR? I think it isn't possible.
Maybe have one of these for breakfast on Christmas morning - never know what you might find!
If you have been reading my 'everyday' blog - Molokoloko News in Wales - you will be more or less up to date on my news so I thought for this Christmas blog I would try to write about something a little bit different - after all Christmas is a special time of year wherever you are and whatever your beliefs about the Christmas holiday. We know the Welsh love to sing so here is a song for you
